Chuck Norris invented the LS1. He designed it to use the power of his round house.

This reminds me of a steelers thread where everyone pulls for the home team.

Have to give credit where it's due. GM did a fine job with the LSX motors, and any car/truck with them runs well. Some people are Car enthusiasts, and others are strictly mustang/Ford. If it runs good, I like it!

Exactly!!! The LS motors effin scream and everybody knows it. Now the nut swingers will keep sayin its wrong this wrong that. Who cares. Before I got the R block, I was actually talkin to Brian about tossin in a 6.0 in my FOX. Absolute best bang for the buck hands down. Throw a "little" boost and hang on!!!

Performance aside....both can be made to run good, my opinion is you actually limit the "enter Ford model here" by putting in a "other manufacturer engine other than Ford here".
Why? What do I mean by limit?
Well Lets use the Chevy in a Mustang example. "Most" guys looking for a mustang are looking for a Ford product. Once the Chevy is put into it, you just lost "most" of your prospective buyers. I know some of you guys could care less what engine is in what car, as long as it runs like a raped ape, blah blah blah.
But for the guys who are looking for that perfect Mustang and find the Chevy in it, they move on, at least I would. Same would go if I was looking for a Corvette and find someone put a 5.0 in it....not for me.

As for the argument of its cheaper and what ever gets it run, I'm not denying that, only saying, Ford guys are Ford guys and Chevy Guys are Chevy guys and a very few select Guys are "Run what you brung" guys.

Based on most of the arguments here, it looks like we have some die hard Ford guys (on a Mustang site???No way??) and we have some die hard GM guys (LS1's rule and outperform Ford FTW...WOO!) I would think "most" of you guys are loyal to your brand, or at the very least, loyal to keeping your Corvette, GTO, Mustang powered by the guts it came with.

Chevy has ALWAYS been cheaper to build than a Ford with lots more performance parts available.....but I think that trend is slowly equalizing.
