Cold Air Intake....BBK from American Muscle. $199 no tune. http://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-2005-v6-cai.html

Here is what it looks like on my 2008 V6.

Check out AIRAID'S line of cold air intakes. I personally think the quality and fitment of their kits are better than any of the other brands out there.

Nothing wrong with wanting to modify your car to your taste or style. Have fun with it...but try and set a goal for what you want to do with it before you just start throwing money at it.

It did make a little difference but not as much as you would hope. I would say the increase was about 10hp. I never put it on the dyno to find out. But it does make a great wine when you step on the gas. LOL

I found this video tip on Cold Air Intakes maybe this will help.

These V6's have more power than those 89 Fox's everyone drooled over years ago. Not everyone can afford the GT or it's easier to mod a V6 a little at a time. Better to have the V6 than some Hyundai or Kia or Cobalt, ain't it?

I'd love to have a GT, but for us it wasn't possible at the time and we wanted a Mustang, so V6 over no Mustang won out. Not bitter or anything, it just gets old hearing the 'it's a V6 so don't waste your time'...99% of all car purchases are a losing investment, so just have fun with what you got.
i see what you're saying, and i'm not saying that there's a problem with having a V6, but there's also no problem with just holding out, IF a GT is really what u want..... if you're frugal, smart and can control your money correctly, you might be surprised what you can afford...

I got my first Trans Am (a '94) in 2003 at the age of 18. Once i got into the performance scene, i wanted soo bad to mod the heck out of it to keep up with the LS1 Trans Am's and camaro's... it took a lot of restraint, but i passed on lots of opporunities to mod and go crazy.. all i ever did was put an exhaust on the car.... then, for my 21st birthday I bought my '01 Trans Am......

I'd occasionally get crap from my friends about how i could possibly afford 2 Trans Am's and a sportbike (had a TL1000R) at the same time at age 21.... my answer was always simple... all that money you spend every weekend on going out, drinking, partying, doing stupid crap.... that's my car pmt every month on my '01 .... simple as that... and they'd just have a dumb look on their face - "oh............... ya"

you're still really young - hell, i'm still really young... if there's something you really want, just be patient and smart and you'll hopefully be able to get there....

but, if a V6 is truly what you want (and i'm sure you can't complain about the fuel economy), then there's absoultey no problem with cruising aroudn in a V6..... its a lot better than what i started with... i turned 16 in 2001 and had a '78 Olds Cutlass Brougham.... we called it the "gheto glider"

here is the dyno sheet from that K&N typhoon intake, http://www.knfilters.com/dynocharts/69-3522_dyno.pdf i have the same intake, and if your gonna do an exhaust usually gt takeoffs are the cheaper route, cause they can re use the one side exhaust already.

I wasn't at all saying it's a waste of time to modify or enjoy your sixxer. Hell, I've spent countless hours tinkering with my daily driver POS 2003 Monte Carlo that started life as an N/A 200 HP 3.8L slug.

I just think it's a waste of money to buy mods that really won't have any real effect. You can spend $200 on a cold air intake, $300 on a tuner, $700 on a drop out 8.8 w/3.55s and a traction lock, $700 on an aluminum driveshaft, ect and end up spending a few grand in the long term for stuff that really doesn't make much difference....or just save your money, spend it at once on a blower and make a HUGE difference in how the car performs.

My opinion only, it's your money and you can obviously spend it in whatever way makes you happy!

Get it tinted, get your stripes painted on, and do any other visual mods you want. By the time you do that it'll be close to winter, and you'll love the way it looks. Sure, it won't be fast. But let's face it, most kids your age (and my age for that matter being that I'm only 20) think their 97hp civic is a street terror. So it'll still be faster than most your buddies cars, and it'll look sick so they'll all think it is! haha Get some muffler deletes...they're cheap and will make it sound nice.

PS: I'm from GBG so hit me up if you need some help with any installs.

Kinda like my car..I take it to car shows and get more looks and compliments than most do with v8's or people who have $50,000+ invested in their vehicle

I'd look around if I were you to see whether it's better to do the vinyl stripes or have them painted on.

Check with reliable auto in greensburg. They're fixing my dented/rusted/faded hood for under 300. I bet some black stripes would be pretty cheap.
