Stereo system?

I'd be willing to bet you have no idea who's behind a keyboard, so I wouldn't be so quick to judge who's been doing what for what period of time, or how well. A birdy told me I should post on this thread because the JL boner was getting stroked a little hard, so that's why I'm here.

There isn't a big difference in output with either of those subs from what you have, though adding power will help. You can certainly spend a lot less money on something different and get a better result. If you're dead set on getting JL because it's JL, by all means, let the rest of the world move on while you stay in your bubble. You're gonna buy what you're gonna buy, but it's best you be informed to make an educated decision.

When I bought my 12w3 it was solely because my brother told me it was a good sub for my car because of it being a stealthbox which was nice. But now that I got a nicer car I want a legit system and that why I posted this thread so I can find the best brand for what I'm looking for and for the best price. I'm in no way set on buying jl audio that was just what I always was told was the best brand for subs and amps. But I never in my life have heard of sundown so its hard to spend 700 dollars on a product that you have never heard in person.

Well, do some research then. I can tell you all day long, but that's just me. If you look on other forums all over the place, you'll find everybody is happy with it and the customer service. I'm a dealer of it, I don't get returns. Where are you located? I may be able to find somebody for you to go listen to it.

X2 I don't know why you think he would just drop everything and go with this sundowner stuff that no one has ever heard and that's not saying it's a good or bad product they come and go all the time how long has Jl been around and why do you have such a problem with them?

I don't expect him to, but how will he ever know if he never tries? Sundown has been in constant growth since it started in 2006. When I say constant growth, I mean in the last 5 years it's gone from a basement to a 14,000 sq ft facility. No matter how much product they produce, it sells out before the new batch is ready to go for nearly every model. Pyle has been around since the late 70's, does that make it the best, or even good? I worked for a JL dealer for 5 years, I know the product and how they operate, and there is better for less money. Every time JL forks out a million dollars for advertising, YOU pick up the bill, it's wrapped into everything you buy. Sundown doesn't advertise, at all, because the product sells itself.

The companies that come and go all the time are usually around for no more than 2 years because they never figured out how to actually make money. Either they sell it cheap so they have no profit to develop new products, they sell it cheap and lose their ass on warranty fixes, or the product just sucks and gets a bad reputation.

Here's an idea....let Pakos7293 listen to some Sundown stuff that you've installed. He knows what his old JL's sound like. Everyone's ears are different and what may sound good to one person might not be too good for another.

Sub and amp brands are like Chevy vs Ford. Everyone has their favorites.
Hell, he may think Dual or Jenson sound good......well, probably not

I would have no problem doing that, except for I'm in South Carolina so that doesn't seem practical if he's nowhere near me.

My names Blake haha. And I would like to hear some sundown gear if I could. I've looked them up on YouTube but that mostly only shows tremble because you can't hear sound quality. I just am trying to figure out the best setup for my car

Yup, just buy what's there rather than investigating and educating yourself and possibly spending less money for something of equal or greater value. That makes perfect sense.

yeah, ive always just bought jl audio. when i decided the factory sub in my truck wasnt cutting it i went to the car audio forums. did my research and it was sundown for me. cheaper than jl and better. when i get my 2 sundown sa10's in any one is welcome to listen to them if they want.

What kind of truck you putting them in? Four door, extended cab, reg cab, is what i mean. Cause i have 2 alpine 10s under the back seat of my f150 and im really not satisfied with them. But with those sundown subs, i assjme they require some decent volume... Ie a largish box. Just wondering...

Why would you think they require a big box? The 10's call for 0.5 cu. ft. sealed, and 1 cu. ft. ported.

Which one of their 10's? The SA series? Like i said, i assumed, and havent looked real in-depth at them yet. Thanks for the info!

i have an 05 crew cab chevy 2500hd. right now i have 2 jl 10 behind the seat and im not happy with them. they sound decent but im not getting the hit and sound i want. so im going to get an under seat box and 2 sa10's.
