    95 GT Oil Pan Leaking

    Hi guys.

    I need some advice here.

I have my transmission and clutch out to replace the pilot bearing and rear main seal before installing a Tremec 3550 and new clutch and I noticed that I have a leaky oil pan at a few spots. Already replaced the rear main seal but the pan is a 4 piece and is leaking at the front and back.

Question is... Can anyone tell me how I can replace the pan with a Moroso 7 qt without pulling the motor? Drop K-Member? Remove pump and pickup before pulling the pan out? Raise motor? Remember that I have the trans out already.

I just didn't want to start tearing stuff apart only to find out that I have to yank the motor out. I would rather not pull the motor since I finally got the damned car 2 feet up in the air to work on the trans and clutch.

Any advice? Can this be done, really?

My 85 is sitting in the exact same position, two feet up with the tranny on the floor, with the same problem, a leaky oil pan. It's been like that for a while now just because I don't have an engine lift and I don't feel like trying to change the pan gasket without lifting the motor. I suppose I'll get around to it some day...

I would put the trans back in and buy a support like in the link below. Just droping the K member to do the pan would be easier than pulling everything apart IMO.

That's my vote also. We are doing Vital's oil pump this weekend, and thats what I've suggested.

If you're going to move to a new house you should get to it sooner than later. :D

Haha, it's funny you mention that because sadly the only time that car has moved under it's own power was the last four times I've moved. I think I lost about 2 quarts of oil driving from Robinson to Millvale the last time I moved. Now I'm heading back to Robinson... Guess I better make sure it's damn full if I don't get it fixed before then

So I am looking for an aftermarket oil pan for a 95 GT that has a supercharger/turbo oil drainback provision and I just cannot find one easily.

Does anyone know of any from Canton or Moroso or... ?

While I am at it, I am not putting the stock pan back in if I can help it.
