OK looking for suggestions on what is wrong with my trans. I got the trans and was told it was good and I made the mistake of taking a guy for his word and didnt check it before I put it in the car. Well the damn thing is stuck in gear.
Just looking for suggestions of what could be wrong before I tear it back out and take the trans apart to inspect it.
Ideas?

Did the shifter move before putting it in?
I didn't think to check, I took the guy for his word and now I'm kicking myself for doing so, not that its that hard to take out but I got it 95% installed and hate to take it all the way back out

Well I'm guessing one way or another it's going to have to come back out. Sucks but thats prob only option. Believe me been there!! I'm not a trans guru but id guess a syncro was screwed up Or a shift fork. Did u take the shifter off and check under it just to make sure nothing is wrong there?
Yeah I did, and I guess I'm gonna be back under it and taking the tailshaft housing off and the top cover so I can look inside it
