    upgrading the alt.

ok i may have a 130a alt available in the morning...im researching if it will fit now. so...how do i do the install. what tools are required? what connectors need installed and/or modified. i need instructions with pics if anyone has them.

if i have one and the tools ill install it and save myself $90.

edit - i wont have one in the morning its the same size i got now....but how do you do it. so ill know when i get me an upgrade.

just make sure you notch out the one part of the alt. bracket in back. if you dont the 130 amp alt will not fit..

This is a good upgrade but, be sure to upgrade the wire to the alternator. I got some heavy duty wire, a fusible link & HD connectors from a local alternator shop for about $14. Money well spent. If you plan to upgrade to an electric fan, water pump and/or a bigger stereo amp the 3G alternator is a must.

I installed one off a 95 Mustang GT. It's a very good mod to do. With my electric fan, MSD ignition, and stereo it would dim the lights at idle and almost stall the car. Now with the new alt, lights never dim and the volt gauge only moves a little.
