Todays what did I do since it rained....again

So no racing I was able to get few things done on car today. Got Mach front spoiler put back on. Just didn't look right to me without it. Got hood off and sanded down and covered in a nice light grey primer sealer. All wet sanded down and will shoot color tommorrow morning and then clear it. Also got my axle bracing on. I love just welding on my back, the feeling of molten steel burning thru my green jacket

Braces are from UPR. Picked them up last summer after I mangled the housing.

Got hood done. Still needs wet sanded and will have to wait till tommorrow after work. Also wet sanded headlights with 400/600/1500 and shot them with clear. They came out ok but plastic is slighty discolored on inside. Not a big deal as they look much better then they were.

Also why is it when you do primer nothing gets in it. When base color was shot couple minor things but nothing that couldn't be picked out prior to next coat. I swear when I do clear everything along with the kitchen sink decides hey lets land THERE. Granted nothing that can't be removed wet sanding but still

The primer dries faster so less things have time to land on it. BTW I like it painted to match.

    Looks really sweet, Ed.

Better the weld splatter on your ear, rather where some dropped close to last year when we did the Cutlass quarters. :D

May still be wrong color. Sometime after I got home the color turned pale. Same paint used for fender that had issues with to much white in mix. Might have to strip hood and redo once I find different place for paint.

Looks good painted! That sucks about the color turning pale though, how the hell does that happen after the paint is dry and the clear is on?

Edit: I understand that you said you had the same problem with a fender because there was too much white mixed in, but why doesnt it show up right after the clear is laid out?

Just got home and it looks ok. Something about water sitting on the fresh clear is making it look pale. Most the hood was dry except for some spots of water. I wiped the water off and it was only pale where water was still at. So I can relax and get it sanded and polished. Seeing that hood at 7am when it was soaked from being outside overnight I was just pissed.
