    building a motor

I am currently trying to put together a motor for a 98 gt. My question is are all the 4.6s created compatible with each other? like will heads from 98 town car work with a block from a 98 mustang? \

    Thanks,
    Shawn.

the heads will work from a 98 lincoln on your 98 mustang motor yes.

im in the same positon as you right now thinking about going to get the bottom end done in my mustang, and use the heads from a lincoln. but im gonna look for pi heads i think.
you will have to use the exhaust manifolds from your mustang since the egr tube is located on the passenger side instead of drivers side.

any other questions you wanna know just ask bud

Def try to find a set of PI heads. Its def worth it, if your building an engine. They are the stock heads on 99-04 mustangs and Im sure other fords as well. They can be found cheap w/ needing valves. I bought my spare set for $150 complete.

yeah i want to do some things different this time around. i love the car, and it never having much power to begin with never really bothered me.
cuz i never raced it or anything like that.

but certainly a lil boost in power wouldnt bother me, being torn down this far and not being able to drive it anytime soon i might as well do what i always wanted to the day this come.

the motor in my car is a pi motor but one of the pistons are bad. i have a replacement motor from a 98 gt. but i have an extra short block laying around. probably gonna get that bored over and put on the pi heads. eventually. not in any hurry. gonna do it up right no exceptions.

So you have a motor out of a 99-04 gt already and its bad?

The replacement is not a PI engine if it came out of a 98.
