Damn that's fast! Is this the same guy you got the turbo from? If so, that's such a shame that his saleen vert is no more. That was one nice ass car!

No he didn't. I think he was too fast. The car ran a new best of 8.56 at that event.

Ben Fraiser wrote in response to my question of his time & whether he sand-bagged?

"Well there's basically NOTHING you can do wrong except sandbag...and I
don't mean run N/A if you're a nitrous car, or pull timing out... I mean
pedal your car...if you pedal it so bad that Rich knows your pedaling
it, he'll boot you out and not even give you a 2nd round of qualifying.
Otherwise, all cars get 2 rounds of qualifying and then the pinks crew
pinks 16 that are close in ET, yet diverse cars. He doesn't want all
Mustangs or all Camaro's. So in the case of Pinks @ HRP it was 9.90 -
10.0 cars that got picked. I didn't expect to get picked so I just used
it as a TnT event. The tech cards were free so it was hard to turn down.

It was a fun event and Pinks really draws the spectators in. Even if
you don't like Rich, or his show, he's doing a good thing by bringing
attention to our hobby...and LOTS of it. There were 20k spectators in
the stands are HRP for the Pinks event here. The only time that many
people come through the gates there is for an NHRA national event."

He makes some good comments. I'm not a fan of the show but, it does draw some much needed attention to our sport.

I happen to know Ben, as well ! PoMoFo racing !!
I was at Belle Rose when his Saleen got bashed by some dumb_ _ _ when he was waiting in line for the True Street passes.

The Pinks people actually chose 10.0 to 10.12, from what I can tell - I know three of those who were chosen.

I've known Ben through the 5.0racing mailing list & then FMRacing mailing list for probably 15 years. He's always been a good member & willing to lend a hand.

Can you believe someone totaled his saleen replica convertable while he was sitting in line for a True Street run? What stupity.....

As a side note, Pinks All-Out is coming to Maple Grove Grove Raceway May 11-12th. Field is closed at 365 entries. Anyone going to spectate or race?

I can attest to that as I have traded several emails with him since buying his old turbo from Mark.

If you ever see Ben in person, you would be thinking "Hey, he reminds me of Lou !!". He is a big guy, and gets along well with just about everyone.

He is a big boy, but I don't know how tall he really is. Since he is a bit bigger around the waist, maybe it makes him look shorter !! :o

Welcome to the site Ben! I'm sorry to see/hear about your saleen. I've seen it around the net for a while and always admired it. Your new ride seems to be a worthy replacement though!

Thanks... it's taken a lot of work to shake down bugs out of this chassis, but it's finally coming around!

That is funny ! Well, I know several of these yankee boys (;) ) as well as I know people around Houston. Hung out with a bunch of them when I was at WFC9 last year. Great guys. So, I just keep in touch.

So, just how tall are ya, Ben ? The people wanna know !
