Fox tail light lense interchange

Likely a stupid question, but I guess I never looked into these things much and dont pay much attention to the Aero cars ...

Wifey's 'vert has GT tail lights in it (cheesgraters). Are all the housings the same under the lenses or are there differences. In other words, can I put LX style lenses on a GT housing or do I need new housings too?

you can swap out just the lenses to either lx or 85-86 aka svo ones
