    what effect do 28" tires have on 3.55 gears

    just curious because going to the 28" tall tire from the stock 26" on the cobra took some snap away(as i knew it would), but wonder what it changed the final gearing to from stock 3.55.

    3.27 - using EEC Analyzer speed calculator
    89 Vert, Stock block, H/C/I , DIY turbo kit MPT70 , Tweecer RT, C4 trans. 17 lbs boost. 3400#s - 10.3 @ 136 mph.

    I agree with 3.27 at the line, but biased tires will grow on the big end. The taller they are, the more they grow. It's amazing how much gear they will suck out.

    3.27 at the line and 3.18 on the top end assuming the tire grows 1 inch to 29 inches :) . You would want between a 3.73 and 3.90 to get back to stock gearing running a 28 inch tire. Probably more towards 3.90 if the tire grows.

    Roughly every 1" of tire change equates to .12 points of a gear ratio change.
