I think he was referring to the blown 00 town car motor currently in the op's car. 01+ town cars had pi heads so the op has a non pi motor in the car being replaced by another non pi motor.

Do yourself a BIG favor and only use a PI motor.
    Good luck on the project.

If you want to clean those headlights and save yourself a few bucks, use the 3M headlight restoration kit.

I was skeptical when I first saw this but heard nothing but good reviews. So I bought it and used it on my VW and the difference is amazing. My headlights literally look brand new. The kit is just basically a little wet sanding with 800 grit, then 2000 grit, then 5000 grit and finish it up with some rubbing compound. Wax it and be done.

Kit gives you everything you need besides the drill and water. Best 17 bucks I've ever spent.

Hey Steiny - when you used that headlight resto kit - how long does it last? Do you have to re-wax them all the time, or has the finish held up for you? Does the kit do more than 1 car?

I never used the "kits" but years ago I redid my cobra lights that are on my '95 and they still look good. Granted the car doesn't get driven much and spends the rest of the time in my garage but I did it a good 5yrs ago and they look great. I wet sanded them with 1000, then 1500, then 2000 and used blue corals plastic polish with a soft foam pad on a drill and finished it off with a good coat of wax. My headlights were trash when I got them as the previous owner tried to clear coat them to make them look better which obviously didn't work so I had to sand that all off as well as the oxidation. The best thing is I paid next to nothing for them and they look great now.
