Had a couple fun races going to and from Carlisle

I had a couple of the best street races I've ever had this weekend.

The first one was on Friday leaving Carlisle. I'm heading down 11 towards the 81 South entrance and I see a new edge behind me with a nice front mount. At this point I pretty much figure it's time to tuck my tail between my legs and avoid a complete ass kicking so I just go up the on ramp at a normal rate. Later down the road the guy gets next to me and lets me hear the blow-off valve a couple times and seems like he wants to go. So I figure "ok, I'll take my beating". I down shift to 3rd and we take off. To my surprise I actually pulled on the guy. I probably put 2-3 car lengths on him up to about 130-140. He pulls up next to me down the road a bit and he says it's a stock 2V with a turbo kit. From the run I would guess low 400's to the wheels. Very fun run with a surprising result.

The second run was very late Saturday night/Sunday morning. I stayed in Carlisle drinking a couple beers and BS'ing with with some folks from the board(had a great time BTW). So my brother and I head back to my parents house where I was staying for the weekend around midnight or so. Just as I cross over the WV border on 81 I see a group of three SRT4's and some other random import. They were going about 60 in a 70 blocking the whole road so I try to push them out of the way a little and as I'm passing them the one dude sticks his arm out the window and gives me a thumbs down . So I continue to pass them figuring one of them would try to race me and of course they did. This time was sort of the opposite of the first race, I was feeling relatively confident. And once again I was surprised... I downshifted to 3rd and gave him the hit. I was shocked to see him right at my door when I grabbed 4th. I pulled maybe 1/2-3/4 car length until he had to shift into 5th when I pulled maybe another 1/2 car or so till I got to the top of 4th in my car. It was pretty damn fast and LOUD. Later down the road we did a three wide run with pretty much the same results. Turns out a couple of the guys were from my home town so when we got off the exit I pulled into a gas station and the guy with the quicker car stopped in to BS for a few minutes. He said he had a bigger turbo at 22psi putting down 426 to the wheels. He was a pretty cool guy. He did say he had put down 457 on a higher boost tune but wasn't really trying to make up any ricer excuses. He had a pretty cool personal plate. Don't want to spell it out exactly, but it was "four door viper" and it was fitting because it probably would beat most stock vipers from a roll. Was definitely a cool surprise late at night on the lonely highway

    cool....

before i left for the honeymoon i got to do some playing with an orange lambo in Moon Twp.... but i was on the R1.... so honestly, didn't have to push the bike even the slightest to stay right behind on the twisty road, but it was a damn quick car nonetheless, as you would expect... good time, but if i would have gotten in front, it would have been no contest....

I figured I'd hear about the roll racing from someone, lol. I love racing on the highway. I got nothing against racing from a dig though. I'm guessing neither race would have been as close though because I run MT radials all the time. Not to mention the opportunity for dig racing is much more rare and usually in a much more crowded area.

Haha, that sounds like a nice little encounter too. I'm thinking about putting road race tires on the cobra next time around so we'll have to see how close I can hang with the R1 when that time comes... in the twisties at least, lol

Good runs! I haven't had a good street encounter since I had the Lightning. Un planned highway runs tend to be roll races, hard to stop traffic to run from a dig. LOL
