    Rally Appalachia

This summer Im competing in Rally Appalachia. A 1200+ mile rally thru the Appalachian Mountains. I will be starting in Winchester, VA and and 3 days later finishing in Charleston, SC. I will be competing against 79 other teams in this event. Along the way are stops at Shenandoah Speedway, Motor Mile Dragway, and Darlinton. Shenandoah Speedway features a 3/8 mile track with compound banking of 12, 10, 8, and 6 degrees in turns 60 feet wide. Straights are 375 feet long with 6 degrees of banking. We will be taking laps on this track. At Motor Mile Dragway we will be testing our reaction times. And at Darlington, we get to have our cars out on the NASCAR track for a few laps.....just thought I would share what Im into as well as a couple pics

The only competition I'm aware of is at the drag strip.....we will be competing for the best reaction time.

Oh, ok. I glanced at the website but it is completely lacking in any information whatsoever. So how does someone win the event?

There really isn't a winner per say. The organizers hand out awards daily and several other awards at the end. Each day a time limit that we can't exceed, if we get to the daily finish line too early we are disqualified for that leg of the rally. Also if we get caught speeding we are dq'd as well

    Wow. Sounds like a blast.

How much money does it cost to do something like this? I would love to do it next year when my car is not a DD.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

The costnto enter was $175. $150 for the decals nd fees and the other $25 was a donation the the Intrepid Fallen Hereos Fund. All other costs are on me. I'm currently looking for sponsors.

Hope you have fun, like I said when you posted earlier about this, I was going to sign up but my co-driver didn't seem like he wanted to do it. By the time I talked him into it there were no spots left. I'll try it next time around, good luck!
