I drove very easy and made it fine. The last time it broke was during a WOT run through 3 gears so it seems it only gets damaged when running it hard. Had I known that was my only run I would have tried harder to make it count! Cogs are gone in august when it gets ported.

No, I was in my red VW GTI. Your car definitely had me take notice after hearing it start up and pull out from the pump. I actually told Troy to look for it and let me know what it ran as it sounded healthy.

New personal best for me tonight though, ran a 12.113@116.10 1.89 60ft. Now I know it'll run 11s in some decent weather. Although I think the mph is still a bit on the low side for my modifications.
Steve, I know it sounds kinda odd, but have you checked your TPS voltage? My car has fought me every step of the way trying to run a good # and that was one of the random things that was wrong. If you have a predator or xcal you should be able to check it with the key on and the engine off. IIRC 4.63V should be max throttle. The floor mat was up under my gas pedal AND my gas pedal was broken so I had to modify it. I think I was only getting around 3.7V or so. Thought I'd mention that since it's something easy to check/fix if that happens to be your problem.

Another thing to check would be your timing and IAT2 temps throughout your run. You should try to log those two things on your next trip to the track. You might have an air pocket in your intercooler system preventing proper circulation or something. It depends on what your tuner sets it at, but I think mine starts pulling timing around 150*F. On a hot day like yesterday I'd imagine you'll be pretty close to that by the end of a run even on a properly functioning system. Until that point you should be seeing somewhere between 21-23* of timing at WOT.

If both of those check out my next guess would be clutch or possibly a hurt motor. Let me know if you have any questions. Like I said, my car fought me too and still hasn't really run the # I'd like it to so I know how frustrating it can be.

Thanks, you guys know, carnage is part of the deal with my stuff ... I'm well past the torque rating of any of these T5's, one mistake and they become moroco's.

Tranny was coming out this weekend for a clutch change anyway, have spare ready to slide in ... just sucks that was my favorite tranny as far as gear ratio's :(

I know more rpm would work very well for me if I had more tire.... Spun last run when I raised the rpm to 5k. Worked good around 4k though, best 60ft I've ever run.

Thanks ray, I'm gonna try and look at all of that this week, and will have to log my next runs for sure.

See, RPM is once again the solution :D Then more tire, then you can use more RPM, then you need more tire ... it's the closest we will get to perpetual motion :D

See above, clearly not a case of too much RPM, just not enough tire ... Now that you have identified the issue, you know what to do ;)

It's funny, but I actually do not have a lot of $$'s into T5's ... over the last 4 seasons, I pretty much average one fragged a season ... The one I just blew ran 1/2 of last year then the syncros started to act up, I pulled it and threw another in that finished the year. It was freshened over the winter and run to this point. The one I pulled to install this one, is the tranny going back in.

I have not, and likely will never, pay over $100.00 for a 4 cylinder T5, I have them freshened with new syncos cheap, and run them mostly to failure. I bet I dont have much over a grand in them over that time period versus the $2,000 bare minimum buy into a TKO 500 that wont shift without another `$300.00 to Liberty. Would I get 4 seasons from a TKO without being freshened?

Also remember to this point, there was no good option for a bell to get anything but a T5 under the car. My Quicktime bell solved than, so now there are options.

The real solution is a face plated TKO 500, i'm just lacking the $3K to make it happen.

Nice! Whatcha got planned for it? Let me know when it goes on the dyno. I'm not far from Wolfpack now. It'd be cool to stop down and watch it spin the rollers.
