I Agree,I loved it when TNT was on wednesday, with a rain date on Thursday, now we go twice a year(was 10 or so, with two cars),If it was more than once a week (thursday only)we would go alot more.

I dont think I your business would do very well... Look Im telling you it doesnt work for the business. Your idea sounds great but doesnt work atleast at PRP plus they are getting plenty of runs on a TNT. When people got 2 they said they should get 5-6 which I agreed and thats exactly what they get now if not more. 5-6 runs for $25 sounds fair to me. The few times I have been to a TNT this year people were satisfied with the amount of runs and alot left before the end so I dont think people a worried about the amount of runs anymore. They are getting plenty. Anyway they tried to have TNT twice a week for a while and all the happened was the car counts were down and it cost twice as much. NO! More people did not come. How many runs do you want 12-15? You can run your car 20 times its not gonna be any faster LOL. I thought this was a good idea to at one point and so did prp because they tried it and it didnt work, it a BUSINESS. Sundays seem to be kept open for special events certain weeks so TNT would have to stay on a weekday.

Now this is a good idea... I agree 100%. I thought it was a great idea when they had the rain date TNT the following day or whenever. This weather is so bad in SW PA we need a rain date. Us racers tried to get them to have a rain date for the bracket raceday also but that didnt happen either.
Least there are rain dates for the last 3 TnT's to end the season

Is PRP even a majority income source for the Tedesco's or is this a toy still for them?

I would hope that anyone that owns a dragstrip wouldnt consider that their majority income source... Millionaires dont get there buy being stupid with their money.
This place has made strides in making it better for everyone including the street car TNT guys. They have made great efforts to open even when it rains unlike the past when they would cancel if it rained the previous day. You get plenty of runs on TNTs complared to the 2 you use to get. The track is preped the same on TNTs as race days. They no longer have gamblers races on TNTs to benefit the TNT racers.
But yet, people still find something say. The old saying some people just cant be made happy holds true still...
I wonder why the oil companies dont lower gas prices? Sounds good to me... I get more for my money and people will buy more gas. Its a great plan... I dont understand why those Zillionaires cant figure this concept out![]()
Gasoline only makes up 42% of a barrel of oil.
Gasoline 43%
Distillate 21.5%
Residual 11.5%
Jet fuel 6.9%
Feed Stocks 4.7%
Still gas 3.8%
Asphalt 3.1%
Coke 2.6%
LPG (liquid petroleum gas) 2.3%
Kerosene 1.3%
Lubricants 1.3%
Miscellaneous 0.67%
The customer has a right to voice their opinions on the services a company provides. The day PRP stops taking money for exchange of services is the day the customer loses their right to voice their opinion.
Where I am getting at with my statement is "Is PRP a majority source of their income" is a simplistic statement. PRP is a decent track. It is not an amazing track, nor is it top tier. Why shouldn't it be a major income source for them? It could be a lot more than it really is.
Their facilities proves this, as well as their event schedule. Do I think 5-6 runs for $25 is reasonable on a TnT day? Sure I do. But do I think they should run multiple dates in the week or have rain dates, yes I do as well. There is demand there for rain dates during the week/weekend.
Are people fed up with the previous bullshit the Tedescos have pulled, of course they are. They've done a lot of good things over the years, like firing their previous idiot track manager and moving forward with more efficient plans on track prep, keeping it clean etc.
I remember going there a few times where it started to rain mid way through the first round of passes, and they kicked everyone out, no rain checks etc. I know they've solved a lot of this now, but actions in the past will still come back to haunt you in business.

2006, PRP was open the Saturday after Thanksgiving. That November was pretty wet, and they wanted everyone to have a shot at getting their last blast in. That day was dry and sunny... I ran it, testing a new carb.
PRP has been fine this year- awesome, for the most part actually. If they'd pave that damn entrance road they'd be batting 1.000.
The weather, on the other hand, has NOT been fine or awesome this year. It better not rain this Thursday. I might go postal.

I agree 100% everyone can voice their opinion thats what I do. I dont work for the track nor do I talk to anyone that owns or works for PRP other then hello. I have just been around it for awhile and talk to people that do know whats going on.
Yes I think a rain date for TNT is a great idea and should be implemented. More then one TNT a week, I thought was a good idea until they tried it and it flopped along with other great ideas. It simply doesnt work and Im not going to argue that anymore.
I do agree also that there is alot left on the table when it comes to scheduling events but it not in having multiple TNTs a week.
