new radiator - need to flush

So the new radiator is going in tonight. Do I really need to flush the system or just fill it with 50/50?

Why are you putting a new radiator in? If the old one was corroded or filled with junk, do you want that stuff in your new one?

The mount where the upper hose clamps onto cracked. When I tried to remove the hose it just broke into multiple pieces - hence the new radiator. I'm confident that nothing is in the system, rather just laying in the bottom of the old radiator.

That being said, the system is now empty, does it need flushed? Empty meaning the upper and lower hoses are disconnected and the motor pee'd all over my garage floor.

If you have the rad out and it's lost most of the coolant, you may as well go the rest of the way and flush the system.
