    Computer help

Ok, I decided to try and replace the LCD on a laptop. Looked it up on the internet and didn't look too difficult. I ran across these 3 tiny connectors, I think they're called ZIF connectors. I looked at them, thought I had them figured out and diconnected them. Before I know it I have these 3 little ends not connected to anything anymore. Am I screwed?? Can these be put back together??

Can you take a few pics and post them or email them. If the connectors are still attached to the PCB then you should be fine. The ZIF's should have a small little slider that pulls out (this varies by connector though), then put the ribbon in and push the slider back in. Pics would help though.

As long as you bought the right replacement LCD you should have the same connectors and everything should go back into place.

I've replaced a few screens before in laptops, let me know if you need more help.

Your best bet is to re-trace all the steps of what you disconnected (find the replacement instructions online) and then see where they go.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

The connectors had nothing to do with the screen, one was the power botton and the others were the mouse pad.

They're not coonected to anything now, when I disconnected them I slid them back out of the motherboard and next time I looked they were laying there. I'll try to get pix...

Well, then they need to go back to the power button and the mouse pad... If they have nothing to do with the screen then they go back to where they originally go?

Get a manual and you'll see where they go back in.

First is the connector, second is where it used to be. Question is can I put this back together?
