will 2007 Shelby GT500 rims & tires fit?

Anyone know if 2007 Shelby GT500 rims / tires will fit on a 1994 Cobra?

    The shelby tires are:

    front: 255/45/18

    rear: 285/40/18

My car currently has 17 x 9 Cobra R rims on it with 255/40/17 tires.
Car also has Steeda Sport springs.

Any info on the backspacing of the Shelby rims would be helpful as well.

    Thanks!

I'm not sure of the backspacing #'s but I believe they will fit, as other 05-10 wheels fit SN95 cars.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

The tires are too high and the offset is wrong. They will be awefully tucked in and may very well rub without a large wheel spacer. The tires will be 2" taller than what you have now. IMO the shelby wheels look like poo too.

Thanks Killer - I found a tire height calculator online and it looks like you're right about the dimensions.

    http://www.wallaceracing.com/tire-aspect-calc.php

My 255/40/17s are 25.03 tall and 10.04 wide.

The Shelby fronts 255/45/18 are 27.04 tall and 10.04 wide.

The Shelby rears 285/40/18 are 26.98 tall and 11.22 wide.

So the Shelby tires are about 2" taller, which translates to 1 inch less clearance all the way around. I'll have to check to see if that will cause a problem on my car.

Since the front width is the same on both tires that won't be a problem - but I'll have to measure my backspacing vs the Shelby backspacing.

The Shelby rears are 1.2 inches wider than my current tires. I'll have to take a look under the car and see how much room I have, and again compare my backspacing vs the Shelby backspacing. I wouldn't mind the wheel/tire sticking out a bit more in the rear, but that all depends on the backspacing stacks up.

08Snake - would you be able to measure the backspacing on your front and rear rims? That's the measurement from the back of the bolt circle to the innermost edge of the rim. Just put a straight edge across the back of the rim surface ( not the tire itself ) and measure down to the bolt circle. If you could do that I'd REALLY appreciate it.

Thanks again guys for your help. I'm going to try to measure my own backspacing today. I've only had the car for about 3 weeks, so I'm still getting familiar with everything.

I'm not a huge fan of the Shelby rims ( 2007 model ), but I need tires soon and am seeing what options are available. However, I think the Shelby rims could look pretty cool ( and different ) on a '94 Cobra. I definitely love the 2003-4 Terminator Cobra rims, especially the chrome ones like on danny's car above, but they are pricey. One good thing about that style rim is that the rims/tires are not staggered, making tire rotation possible, at least front-to-back ( not side to side ). I also like the 2005+ GT rims, but they aren't wide enough for the tires needed on this Cobra. I do not want to sacrifice handling, as that is definitely a strong-point of this car, so I do not want to go with a narrower/higher profile tire.
