    new tire shine

Trying out a new tire shine i picked up at the flashlight drags yesterday, they claim they have been working on it for ten years right in saxonburg. and they also claim it lasts for months..even daily driving. They also say you can put it on your treads and it will grip the same if not better than rubber..i didnt put it on my treads but im trying it on the outside. the stuff is called Infinity Shield $13 for 6 ounces and you need to apply two coats....here is what it looks like when its all done...great at first now lets give it time and see

You should have seen it before the site crashed last night, it had probably 15 posts in it. Some people are interested in this kind of stuff.

Yep, certainly not my thing either, but the folks into detailing/showing probably like to hear about new products. Plus, it's always great to support the local guy's business whenever possible.

Meguiars Endurance tire spray is what I use. Not a fan of shiny tires. Like mine with a clean black look without the shine. Spray on and wipe off real good.

Same here, I use some professional stuff we buy at the detailing shop I work at on the side. Nice deep black finish w minimal shine. Once you get a good base on your tires, you don't have to apply each time you wash the car.

I used to use a Meguiars gel product that you would apply with a sponge applicator. It was not a shiny finish - but very dark and clean - it was awesome, despite the grape-ish smell. It would last for 2+ weeks daily driving in good weather and look fantastic. For some reason they stopped making it - I looked all over and have not been able to find it.

Thanks for posting the info for this new product - hopefully it holds up for you!

How about a burnout test to see if it stays on the sidewall or ends up on the quarter panel??

So there is a lot of prep work involved in putting this stuff on?

I like to just wash the tires real quick and then slam the stuff on. Once you do it enough times it usually lasts even with washing.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

I still say opti-bond. You can get it locally. A 32oz bottle is 15 bucks. Little goes a long way. You can use it straight for more shine. Or mix it a 1:1 with water for more of a satin look. It last a long time as well

Actually, it held up quite well from what I saw. I was impressed. Best stuff ive seen so far. It had sort of like a rubber texture. Im sure the next time around when the tires are cleaner, it will last longer. He put it on pretty even though and the stuff seems pretty sticky.

I use this at 1:1 for my tires and all my plastic trim. I usually apply, let sit and then wipe off evenly. Great stuff.
