I bought my mach used in january. it has 36k miles on it It has the typical bolt ons but its now time for an oil change. the dealership ran a synthetic blend of pennzoil but ive always run royal purple in my vehicles and im not sure which way to go. any advice or real life experiences on which one to go with?

You're fine either way, you can get away with a longer duration between changes using a pure synthetic though.

only issue is, if you go with a cheaper filter, those may not last as long. I run Amsoil Signature 0w20 in my 2011 GT.

Advanced auto bottom of the line oil here. I'll never have the car long enough to see any long-term issues. :)

When I did mine it had Royal Purp in it, swapped that out for Mobil1 5w-30. Caught it on sale at Napa, $5/quart!

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

Group III Blend (Motocraft, Mobil 1, Castrol etc) or Group IV Pure Synthetic (Royal Purple, Amsoil, Redline etc), you won't have any issues.

You don't have a need to run a Group V Ester based oil (Eneos, Motul etc)

I ran the purple stuff in my Cobra when i had it, but when i changed it for the 1st time in the new car i put Mobile One full synthetic in it. Any synthetic i'm sure you'll be fine. The purple stuff is getting a little pricey.
