TMZ reports that Angelica Smith, who began working as a receptionist for the now 88-year-old Shelby in 2005, is accusing the performance parts and car manufacturer of treating her as a “personal servant” and forcing her to go on errands to collect liquor and pornography.

I kinda hope that part is true just cause it's funny. You know you're rich when you can pay someone else to go get your booze and playboys, lol

You guys that think Shelby is all about money need to realize up until 2006 his company
was broke. He sunk most of his money into building cars. The new company, is basically
an investment corp with Shelby as CEO and spiritual leader. I'm sure he makes a proper
CEO salary with options and endorsements, but he's not wealthy.

On the legal set of books he's estimated net worth of $80 million dollars.

This old fart would be a nobody if the SAAC had not kept files and papers documenting the Shelby's. Then Carroll has sued them to try and get money from the people who put him on a pedestal. Then he sued the companies over trademark infringement over the Cobra. The body and chassis was designed in England By AC cars. It never belonged to him either. He was trying to collect on somebody Else's idea--- he lost that lawsuit. He has a children's heart fund which was investigated and was found out that only less than 5% of the money he collected ever went to charity. What a friggin loser. Shelby sued Factory Five over what he calls trademark infringement on the Daytona Coupe which he did not own or trademark.

How about the 40 forgotten chassis in the desert scam! Only problem Brian Angliss had all the chassis Vin records from AC Cars and they were never built at AC more like CA.

Shelby made millions off the Unique Performance partnership. He sold licensing agreements, parts, motors, etc. He was just as much involved as unique.

Ohhhh so that's why the msrp on a gt500 is almost 20k more than a regular GT, meanwhile its nowhere near 20k more of a car. Shelby is a greedy old fart. We need the SVT cobra back

The Boss 302 is 50k. You think a supercharged Cobra equal to the GT500
would cost any less than a Shelby GT500? I doubt it!

And judging by the 03/04 sales, I doubt it would be as successful.

Mustangs ceased to be the every-mans hot rod in 1995.

uhh what? The Boss 302 is 40k...im talking MSRP, not what people are paying for it...

and yes I absolutely think an SVT cobra with no SHELBY name on it will cost less...the 03/04 cobras were roughly 10k more than the GT's at the time, not 20k like now.

what do you mean 03/04 sales? those are one of the most popular mustangs ever made.

They cost more to own and mod $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I was making 24k in 87 when I bought my first new Stang for 12k.

Today they cost 30k+, you probably make 60k to own one.

Sad to say, the every-man doesn't make 60k.

The rest is open to opinion.

The way I look at this is in 1967 when he walked away from the car industry and gave what he claimed was his to Ford and told everyone to kiss his A$$ I was done with him. Sure he was a wheeler & dealer you have to be in that racket But when you go on the war path and start suing the little guy that's trying to make a buc he crossed the line, he gave up his rights in 67 when he could care less about the cars! Now move ahead to 1978 ish and SAAC is in the picture the cars are increasing in value now he wants all the glory.

Sure I own one It's called a investment I also bought the car when it wasn't worth 10K but the cars value would have been zero if the guys from SAAC didn't save what Shelby was throwing in dumpster and tracking down all the records that were stashed in the attic that were Destined for a land fill, I give him credit for the early years but after 1985ish he turned into a sue everyone slim ball...
