Summit Bucks - question on them

I know in the past, Summit from time to time has run 5-15% off orders with a promotion code. From searching the net, it sounds as if they have done away with those promotions and now only have "Summit Bucks". My question is - are Summit Bucks brand or part specific or are they a coupon for xxx dollars off your next order and can be used on anything ?

The Summit Bucks are like a gift certificate good for whatever you earn off your total order ... You get a certificate with a code, when you place your order you give that number and it is deducted.

In general, via phone order or internet order, you only get Summit bucks on specific items ... These are usually items they want to sell below the manufactures minuimum price (some manufacturers say you can only sell so low) or thier store brand stuff.

If you go to the store, you get Summit bucks on your entire purchase. For the most part, it offsets the sales tax you pay in the store.

Thanks for the quick response. Do they have valid / expiration dates ? I don't think I've ordered anything from Summit since the spring and am wondering if I earned any points on that order, is it worth going back to try to find my paperwork if the "bucks" are typically only good for 30 days or something like that.

They do expire, but have a long time ... like a year?? If you earn any Summit Bucks, they send yo ua certificate ... It comes in one of those envelopes like a check where you tear off three edges to open it ... If you never got that, you likely dont have any ;)

FWIW, Summit has great customer service, call them and ask for your balance.

Ok thanks. I did call and had a previous order receipt with my customer number and they were able to pull up my account - but unfortunately no summit bucks. They weren't able to give me any info on upcoming sales on the wheels I wanted to get. just have to keep checking back. Thanks for the information
