    Quote from svtperformance dot com

"Hi guys, we posted that we had passed the 7800rpm limit because to our knowledge, no one had achieved this on the stock "GT" pcm until this point. Numerous experts in the industry told me that the Boss Pcm was the only one that could go past 7800rpm, and that it could not be done on a GT processor.

We encountered the same issue on the 05-10 cars when racing/tuning my 05 car. We even had Ford datalog the car and was told by the head calibrators that there was a hard code in the pcm that would not let it go past 7800rpm no matter what software/calibration was used. To this day, I have not heard, nor seen, anyone take the Spanish Oak processor past 7800, and I've worked with the best in the business.

When we received the 2011, and started pushing the boundaries, we once again encountered the 7800 wall. We were told by Ford, that once again, the new Copperhead PCM had the same issues and barriers as the old Spanish oak. So maybe we weren't the first, but we thought this was pretty big news, considering you don't have to spend $500+ on a Boss PCM to obtain that kind of rpm.

Yes, it was done through calibration and I did not see that anyone else has posted that this rpm was reached. I thought it was pretty big news as most combo's we have done, either N/A or centrifugal, could benefit from more rpms, so I don't know why it hasn't been brought up before?

Either way, this is great news for the aftermarket that we can use a little bit more of the hp/rpm that Ford has blessed us with in this Coyote powerhouse!

    Thanks JB"
