ah good point, I didnt even think of that. I do remember hearing about how expensive that paint was before. Not quite sure exactly how expensive though. I never heard of any numbers

That paint used to be like $1000 or so for a quart. And didn't it have to be delivered by a Ford rep, then the paint was sprayed, then the Ford rep took back any of the unused paint? So yeah, it was really pricey, but $4k sounds like a big number...maybe a big profit margin for the painter...

I worked at a ford dealer in the mid 90s and you are right about the paint, the green they use in it is the color for us currency and it is very regulated, and if I remember correctly it was like 750 a pint back then.

The mystic paint is expensive, but not nearly as bad as it was back then. Nice car.
