I agree on the rolling radar - when I used to drive thru Ohio all the time, I really had to stay on the ball if I wanted to make good time. These days I just take it easy rather than risk a big ticket.

If the point is to slow people down then they shouldn't hide. It's completely effective to put a car on the side of the road and everyone slows down. Hell, put the lights on and traffic will creep to a near stop. I recall a few yrs ago someone got a ticket for flashing their lights warning oncoming traffic about a speed trap. The ticket got thrown out due to the flasher effectively slowing oncoming traffic.

I live on a 25mph superspeedway thoroughfare...they can hide in my driveway any day. Yes, that is hypocritical but isn't that the way it goes nowadays.

I agree with this. I don't understand how they (in my town) pull people over for going 10 over in a 2 lane 35 zone, while there are idiots blowing the stop sign in front of my house at 40 mph (where kids are playing). The same idiots driving down RT. 30 at 30 mph in the left lane are the same ones flying down my little street.

Anytime I've been hassled by the fuzz, it was in response to doing something illegal (redlights, stop signs, etc) and I've been treated fairly by every one of them. They're just doing their job like anyone else and, some do it worse than others. However, I won't complain about speed traps, the speed limit is the speed limit, I'll just save my high speed antics for closed courses.

It would work everywhere, but revenue is number one priority. Why do you think 99 out of 100 times the points are dropped on a ticket?

Local cops are a huge drag on municipal budgets.......I know, I work with municipalities daily to handle financial issues. With all their equipment and training local cops can bury a local govt quickly. The least they could do is attempt to cover their costs with honest tickets that would hold up in court and not another gadget at taxpayers expense.

On another note, PennDOT is considering using speed sensing camera devices in constructions zones and running 24hr surveilance.

Motoring public has it about as easy as it gets in PA.

Only State Police can have RADAR. We have no LIDAR or Moving RADAR.

Locals can only enforce timed speed enforcement.

I have no clue how people get caught speeding.

Look at the freaking white lines on the roadway.

If you see some slow the F down.

I saw the white lines on an unfamiliar road one time where I was doing 40 in a 25. When I saw the cop I jammed the brakes and slowed wayyyy down. The officer pulled me over just to say "touché" and told me to slow down lol
