So i have no 5th or 6th gear in my focus. i took the shifter apart and checked over the linkage and everything looks good. im thinking maybe just the cables need adjusted?? anyone ever dealt with this?

Could be the syncros (sp) going bad, kinda wierd its a higher gear not to mention two different throw directions but stranger things have happened..
Check the shifter cable bushings...where they connect to the transmission, also check the cables make sure there is nothing wrong with them either..

Fixed It!! On the one shifter cable there is a spring that goes in a plastic nut and it came loose so i had to screw it back on. i have all the gears back again.
Nice, glad you found it. IDK what id do without 5th and 6th on RT28!
