    Mysterious Road Markings...

The G8 is in need of some new rear tires so I wanted to make sure the old ones were put to good use. It appears that 3rd gear burnouts leave pretty dark lines on the road

I'm the last house on a dead end street so there are no neighbors that can complain Although with the HUGE cloud of smoke that resulted they may have been wondering what local tire factory was on fire, lol

I was just curious, I used to work in that area and didn't recognise it.

Hah, looks good Ray. I didn't think that car had the testicles to do a 3rd gear burnout. Must be those baby tires.

I think it might have a 4th gear burnout in it. Using the manual mode for the auto helps out a lot, just click it up to the next gear. Probably won't find out till the next time it needs tires, as you might imagine these are pretty well shot after this performance.

The car actually hooks pretty well. If you roll into it in first it'll usually hook first gear on the street. I think I got at least one or two 1.8X 60' times with it at the track with street tires too.

    Well done Ray.....

Did you stay on the brake for a "rolling burnout", or just get them going in third and then let off the brake?

Little of both. Was on the brakes at first to manually shift the auto from 1st up to 3rd then little to no brakes after that. I was shocked at how dark the marks were, lol. Like I mentioned, I'm the last house on a dead end road so I doubt they'll be wearing off anytime soon I like doing my burnouts somewhere that I get to regularly see the marks. It puts a smile on my face when I see them
