Money is motivating the whole thing, and the thinking is to lose a little bit in the short term than risk the years and years of income he can bring to the franchise. Anyone who thinks that Sydney, the Pens, and the NHL is acting with this health being absolute #1 priority is living in a dreamworld.

Out of all major sports, Hockey still has the grassroots mentality behind it and I believe that many of people in SIdney's corner authentically want him to be healthy not just for the money.
