If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump
The fanatec ones are badass but they cost WAY more than I want to spend on a video game....especially for a controller I will only use for one game....The force feedback is amazing it feels like you are driving a real car.
The microsoft wheel has force feedback too but 1) they dont make them any more for some reason and 2) they dont have a clutch pedal....for even more money you can get a pedal set that includes a clutch and an actual shifter for the fanatec wheel.
Some people are nuts and have entire cockpits which include 3 monitors for viewing (which also involves having 3 xbox's and 3 copies of the game to run!!!!) talk about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

so you need a few hundred dollars worth of xbox's, $180 worth of game discs, ~$1,000 worth of monitors, ~$500 for a serious wheel setup, and however much a racing seat would be + the cost of making/buying a cockpit to hold all of it
holy crap....where to people get this kind of money and still pay the bills?

Picked this up tonight at the mall game is pretty sick...
anyone experiment with trying to make a legit drag car in the game?
I got a foxbody with drag wheels, slicks, full weight reduction, final drive of 4.56, lowered the PSI in the slicks, adjusted the damping, softened the springs and can almost pull the wheels. It's crazy how much you can actually tune your car I love it.
gonna try this on a mustang II later and see how it does

I was experimenting last night right before I went to bed, so I was just trying things real quick on the top gear test track that is in the game. didn't actually use it at a dragstrip yet. However I will find out today what it runs lol.
It's definitely a great game. I'm not "super nerdy, all about it, play every second I get" into the game (because I still prefer real cars any day over a game), but as a software engineer myself, I really can appreciate all the work that went into the game's development and how detailed everything is.
One thing that just made me think "wow this is insane" is when I put a cam in the fox in the game and took it for a test drive - it had a lumpy idle after adding the cam. Then I drove a 2010 GT500 in the game and you can hear the supercharger whine when you drive it hard. Pretty nuts if you look at a game like this and then look at something that came out 20-30 years ago and see how far technology has come.
