    Quaker City

First time here in 9 years. I know its little slower than PRP. First pass goes 12.37@108.7 with 1.61 sixty leaving at 5800. I added fuel for next run since it's cooler. Went 12.25@109.3 with a 1.58 sixty

See how rest of day goes.

Ok I forgot how much the top end of Quaker goes up. Didn't think it was as much as it really is. Car was fn flying today. Honestly the best traction I have seen all year. Fast consistant starting line.

1st round car ran 12.23@109.41 with a 1.58 sixty. Lost and bought back in and next pass goes 12.207@105.81(I dumped at end but guy cut a .005 light on me)

My best pass at PRP was 12.2056@110.76 with 1000' at 10.1688. My 12.2072 pass tonight dumping was 10.1388(fastest 1000' ever) at 1000' so I think I would have ran a 12.17-18 at Quaker.

Did also run quickest 1/8 at 7.71@87.29

On a side note the amount of cars that break at Quaker is insane. I am spoiled at PRP with near zero breakage ona race day. Took forever to get 2 time runs and 1st round done.

Why do you think they were breaking at QC? Hooking so hard or just the quality of cars there?

QC is about 1:15 from downtown - takes me about an hour from Moon if I behave.

Oh no it was oil down, oil down, oil down, oil down, puking anti freeze, clean it up next car pulls up and pukes. All at starting line.

They do a real good job at startline of keeping it prepped. I had zero complaints with that.

I know some old school guys that always call that place Quaker the Breaker.

As you observed, I was amazed with the hook the last time I was there, especially when you hear the cool aide crew. I've since done better, but at the time I got my best ever 60' there too, and it was on a hot day.

Nice to see your bests. Congratulations on those.

Thats awesome Ed. The pumpkin was flying. I also had record runs at PRP Friday, I think the air was the best we have ever got to race in in this area. I ran the same at PRP Friday as I did at Mason Dixon in March when it was 50 degrees in mine shaft air so that just goes to show you how well the air was. With that kind of air you will have better 60 ft times. 2 weeks ago at PRP my 60ft was 1.53 on the hottest day of the year, friday they were 1.45 in great air. I dont think traction was any better just the air.

When I ran at QCR last year I hooked great too, it wasnt the starting line that was terrible it was the rest of the 1300 feet. Someone referred to it as the same surface as the moon because of all the bumps and craters lol. I did hear they patched alot of the holes which I hope because I plan on going there for their Pumpkin race.

Does elevation really matter compared to the actual DA at the time of the pass down the track. If the DA was the same at Cecil and Dever on a given day then shouldnt a car make the same power at both location?

    Awesome runs!

On a completely random note, I have issues doing a burnout in my FWD at PRP because it pulls my rear wheels.
The burnout box at QC is on an incline isn't it? That could help my burnout considerably.

    Yep it's on a hill.

Even doing a 3rd gear burnout my car doesn't move much. Might move a foot then tires bark and grab. Was someone else there in a twin screw blown Gt that said he was going backwards during burnout

I had credited that with some of the 60' improvements I saw there. I would let off the line lock to roll out and just sit there :D Had to really power out of the water box. You know the deal with Hoosiers and burnout process, seems coming up the hill made that more consistant for me.
