The only bad news is that I will have to put my 2V build up on hold (or a new 5.0 for that matter). The good news is that the kids have a pool and I have a man cave with pool table and a wet bar!

Congrats! Ill post mine up in two weeks! I'm going from a 2 bedroom town house to a nice big brick ranch. I close on the 30th so we are getting close! I'm excited to finally have my own garage to work on the cobra in, with room to spare.

I did very similar to you this past month... Here's my before and after... as i said before, we're tickled to death about the place...
Before - 2 bedroom apt. - 2 car garage size, but only 1 car door
After - 3 br, 2 bath, 10' ceilings throughout except for huge (22') cathedral ceiling in family room, vaulted cieling in 1 bedroom, and enormous master suite with cathedral cieling, 3 car garage, big deck and 21' pool, 3/4 of an acre with fenced-in back yard, and a full, open basement with 10' cieling

eventually down the road i'd like to have something like what the OP has in the basement ... a real nice relaxation area with a pool table and a bar, etc....

Looks like a nice step up, Bish.

I've definitely been considering how much I hate paying someone else's mortgage (renting) and buying my own place, but not sure how much I want to get into.

Nice Upgrade Bish. I like the three car garage!

Thanks for the compliements guys! I only wish my garage was slightly bigger but with everything else the house has to offer, I can't complain! Closing is next week. I cannot wait!

this isn't my thread, so i'll be brief...

i'm sure you know, the guy took my money and ran, leaving me high and dry... I went to the DA's office.. they've pressed 4 criminal charges... just waiting for the court system to do its thing... in the meantime, we decided that this was the place for us... its bigger (sq. footage) than the log cabin anyhow, so i doubt i'll ever wanna go smaller... and it was cheaper than buildling... the couple i bought from was going through a divorce and this was the last thing that needed divided up

Sean, how high is the ceiling in the garage? I bought a new house a little over a year and a half ago and it came with a three car garage, but with 5 cars it wasn't enough. My ceiling is 10' high in the garage so I bought a 4 post free standing lift so I can get 4 cars into the garage at one time now. Even with only 10' ceilings, I have no trouble stacking the cars on top of one another. I have to back the top car in so that the garage door doesn't hit it when it is open, but I could always fix it with different angle rails. I will try to take a picture later so you can see how it fits. I think I could possibly get away with the lift even with ~9' ceilings but it would be close.

The ceiling is rather high but I do not know how high. I will measure it once I get in. I think my issue will be the width. I am afraid two cars is going to be tight as it is - I can't imagine adding a 4 post lift but I will check it out. If you could send some pics, that would be great! That is my only issue with the house. The garage is small and there are no drains. Oh well, the other stuff will make up for it (read: wet bar and pool table).
