WTB: Tires For TRX Wheels 81 Cobra

Ya, i know this is a real long shot, but figured i'd try. I would like to find a set of decent tires to run on the trx's for my 81 cobra. I know it's not likely, but would like to find a set of used tires that are not dry rotted and still have some decent tread on them. At this point i'm not ready to spend what set of new tires would cost on this car. Got new tires on ten holes on it right now, but would love to be able to take it to shows with the trx's.

    Thanks
    Kerry

Looks like a good prospect. He is suppose to be in Toledo in about a month so going to check them out then.

EDIT: just realized the link you posted was probably for the guy that has all the trx stuff for sale. I pm'd him about selling just some tires. Having a problem getting logged into fep right now.

Ya, i have looked at Coker site and seen them. Not willing to spend that much per tire. You would think that they would atleast try to be somewhat reasonable on the price for folks that are now restoring these cars.

I know. That's why I found the Riken's for my 84 GT (Post #30 http://www.steelcitystangs.com/forum...ad.php?t=21695). I didn't want to spend that much for the tires either.

Someone should re-make those rims in a 16 inch diameter...

the trx rim is actually a completely redesigned bead for the tire. supposed to improve handling I think. Never caught on though. A few pricier cars had em too ie bmw and i think ferrari.

I did end up finding a set for the 81 that i originally started this thread for. I have recently picked up an 80 cobra and am now on the search for another set of trx tires in good shape. Let me know if have anything.
