    Jegstar wheels weighed

Bought some jegs brand wheels 15 x 8. Weighed in at 17 lbs each. They look pretty nice. Nice polished finish. Everything I read was that these wheels were really heavy.

Gonna run 1/4 spacer. Its not touching the caliper but its darn close.

I have a set of Summit Warrior R/T's. 15x10 and 15x7......I thought those were pretty light also.

You wont think they are heavy until you pick up a real ProStar ... They are okay wheels, I just hated the lug nut arrangement on them.

Now go grab a prostar, you might accidentally launch it into the ceiling.

For street and occassional track use I'll take the cash savings over weight savings and not be worried at all. If I want to cut off some weight, I need to drop about 35 pounds off of myself!!

LOL ... I keep mine tied down, I would hate to come into the garage and have half a dozen of them stuck up there

I make Joe pick mine up every time I'm changing at the track ... actually, I use that to get him to carry my wheels for me, but they are light ... lol

I weighed two 15x8 draglites yesterday in a cardboard box...if the box weighed two pounds then each wheel came in at 17.5lbs - according to the airport scale.

(two rims in a cardboard box = checked baggage. :) )

We went over this not that long ago. I believe the knockoff weighed roughly 2 lbs more. Not that big of a deal if the car is mainly a street car. The big issue i read about was the possibility of the centers tearing out on a hard slicks launch. Main reason i sold my Summit Prostar knockoffs, i thought they looked great though.

Everything I could find on the welds showed they were 14 lbs. 6lbs total on the rear over the welds.
