There was supposed to be another caravan coming from NY to Breezewood. Don (Rush2112) thought it would be nice to have some Pittsburgh stangs drive over with him to Breezewood, grab some coffee or whatever, and then head down to Carlisle from Breezewood. You are welcome to join us at any point. Get some cell #s of those going and see what you can do. Be happy to have ya tag along ;)

Anyone in the Pittsburgh area interested in meeting up for the Friday morning cruise to Breezewood/Carlisle (optional whether you wanna stop at Breezewood or not) send me a PM. This thread is getting too long to keep track.

Unless anyone knows of a pull off rest area on the TPK not too far past the Breezewood exit?

There is the Siedling Hill Rest Area which is roughly 15 miles past Breezwood. As you can tell, I drive the turnpike alot. :D

It's the one on the left side of the road with the Burger King inside in case anyone is trying to think of which one it is.

Yep, I just called the TPK hotline cause there maps suck (and outdated)

Pittsubrgh/Monroeville Exit is Mile post 56.6

First rest stop is the South Somerset Rest Stop – Mile post 112.3 (This is the first place we can actually pull of and meet) So I say to all PGH people lets meet somewhere before we even get on the TPK.

Breezewood Exit – Mile post 161.3

The first rest stop past Breezewood is Sideling Hill Rest Stop – Mile post 172.3

Tammy - You would need to go to Breezewood, get off, then get back going the other way and go about 12 miles to the first pull off. (if you want)

Crap... I just remembered that this is going to be a Friday morning and I don't know what traffic is like on the PKWY going to Moneroeville? I'm sure the Squirrel Hills tunnels will be a joy..

The Sideling Hill Rest stop serves both East and West bound sides of the pike. As long as she is getting off a different exit than the one she gets on at and can get from one parking lot to another at the rest area, she won't have to backtrack.

376 shouldn't be too bad since we will be heading the opposite direction of most people. Would probably be a good idea to take 65 to get to 376 cause 279 will be backed up going into the Ft. Pitt tunnels. I'm not real familiar with Monroeville so I don't know a good place to meet before the turnpike.

I can definitely meetup on 65. That is the way I go into PGH every morning anyway. From the sewickly bridge all the way to the north shore.

Let me know where on 65 you wanna meet. There is a Mcdonalds in Avalon/Bellvue on the 65 on the right side.

That probably wouldn't be a bad place to meet for those of us on the west side of town. I go that way in the mornings too, across the McKees Rocks Bridge then onto 65.

Yeah, there is nothing after the McKees Rocks bridge, so hang a left after the bridge and head towards Bellvue. McD's will be on your left just past a light. Also near a car wash/gas station.

Let's say we meet there at 7:15am or so, and planning to PULL OUT at 7:30am. This should get us onto the TPK by 8am, if traffic isnt FUBAR

Not sure what SCS has in mind for a meeting place?

However I will be with my other club, BMC (Bad Mustangs Club). Look for the small crowd of people with mutlitple tents and that's where I'll be

    Stop by and say hi

What time are you leaving Friday? Do you guys want to meet up with us on the Turnpike and cruise down? We are planning to meet around 9:30 a.m. and finish the drive to Carlisle together. Let us know

Tammy - let me know where your merging onto the TPK? Also see if there is a way you can take an alternate route to put you on the turnpike so that you won't have to cross over at sideling hill (because I am not sure if that is feasible). If you can get on the TPK say 1 exit before the sideling hill rest stop, then you'll be on the correct side to pull off and meet us
