    Question for detailing buffs

For my senior project i will be "refinishing" my sn95, Inside and out. This leads me to a few questions i have for you guys.

First: The car, in all its dull and faded glory.
    Exterior:

First question is when the spot where the paint has chipped off on the quarter panel get painted, can just that panel be painted and it look decent or will the whole car need resprayed? the same with the inside of the hood scoops. Also on the front bumper, where the clear coat is peeling, can that be wet sanded and polished or does that need painted as well?

My next question is about polishing the whole body of the car after the touch ups have been completed. I'm not exactly sure what i will need to do this, that's why its my project and its supposed to be a learning stretch. What all will i need to complete a buff/ Polish on my car from start to finish? whats the best way to do it? what products to use and how to use it? any tips i couldn't learn in a book are helpful.

    Interior:

The third part of this project is the interior, I will be taking out most major pieces of the interior to recondition them back to a like new finish, I know how to clean out the seats and carpet but for the plastic trim pieces are there any specific plastic polishes that work well for bringing life back into faded pieces, or tricks for any other pieces i might encounter?

ANY help with this is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Shawn

Alot of people wont agree with me, but I have started using Adams Polishes and have had great success with them. I have got some pretty bad stains out of my trans am interior. My tan interior with 135k miles on it looks brand new.

the paint spot where its rusty I am sure most body shops can sand down that area and spray a small area..its just it will be glossy there compared to rest of car..as for the peeling front bumper there is no cure but a repaint for that. Polishing wont do anything. You are going to need a Dual Action buffer like a Porter Cable 7424xp or the Griots 6" polisher..Once you have one of them get the Meguiars 5" Mf kit..it has the cutting pad and compound and the finishing pad and finishing wax to do the whole car in a 2 step processes.

Thanks, my cousin owns a body shop so hopefully I can get a good deal on that.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump
