Get rid of the 16th amendment!

" The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes,
from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several
States, and without regard to any census or enumeration. "

I have argued with people about this issue countless times. I still cannot comprehend how anyone other than a simple minded ten year old can see a correlation with legal firearms and gun crime. As if outlawing assault weapons or any weapon (where in the innercity where it is a problem they are often outlawed already) is going to curb crime.

The worse thing you can do is take guns away from the people who can legally own them.

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

I found Mahrs arguement that if the People stood against the Government that the Marines have F-22 planes and that the Right to Arms was from a musket to Musket time off the mark. I would have refered him back to Issa pointing to Libya as an example, the military there had the same kinds of equipment and the armed people over came that to gain freedom from a ruling party.

Damn right we need to keep the Right.

    Just sayin

someone on here needs to be the victim of a home invasion/rape. When his door gets kicked in we'll see whos in favor of only letting the scum carry the guns, or better yet maybe nancy pelosi can sit on the front porch with her solar powered cell phone keyed up to 911, never mind, shes too busy spending 39% of my paycheck on social programs that i didnt vote for.

When i got my gun permit and started to carry my firearm with me...my wifes ucle noticed it on me at a Christmas party. He started his rant on how "I've live 40 years and never needed a gun...I don't understand why anyone would ever need to carry one."

My argument to him is the same as it is to all the nay sayers. i hope i live my life to its completion and never have to reach for my gun, let alone fire it. But, I'd rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

If they make guns illegal, its not like all the guns out there will disappear. Cocaine heroin meth, etc, all illegal, but its fairly likely that it can be commonly found.

So the man who wants to protect his family and house won't be able to buy a gun to do so. But do you honestly think that someone who is willing to kill, would be turned away from acquiring a gun because its illegal?

Well said, I couldn't agree more!!!

Speaking in general, I have never understood why anyone, regardless of political preference, would even consider arguing the right own or carry firearms. It's common sense and anyone who thinks otherwise is very ignorant and naive.

For all those who disagree with me, I hope and pray that you or a loved one is never the victim of a violent crime. God forbid that day every happens, but if it does I will bet my life that you will change your mind about firearms.

Restricting or taking firearms away from law abiding citizens doesn't help fight the war on crime. Criminals don't care about laws and rights, they do what ever they want.

I've been back and forth on the issue several times in my life. In my teens I never saw the point of having a gun, then in my 20's when I lived in some rough parts of cities I was glad I had the right if I chose to exercise it. I've contemplated whether or not carrying a firearm "ups the ante" with respect to getting shot by criminals.

I think the thing that drove it home for me was moving north of the border. Just to own a long gun (which is classed as an "unrestricted firearm") you have to go through a 1.5 day safety course which isn't free. Then to be able to own a handgun you need to go through another 1 day course on top of the unrestricted course (with another fee of course). Even then you still cant carry on a daily basis. In order to move a restricted firearm anywhere you need to apply for an Authorization to Transport (ATT) and your ATT lists where you plan to transport it to, how often, and for what purpose. Granted you can apply for an ATT for a specific situation (e.g. - going to the range to practice on an as needed basis) for up to 5 years, but its still a pain the ass.

Long story short: You don't know what you got till its gone. Like it or not the 2nd ammendment is clear on your rights. Don't let the feds obfuscate it into oblivion.
