    Winter Truck/SUV

Hey guys, looking to get a winter ride so I can park the Mustang safe and sound in the garage.

Looking for a Ford,Chevy or GMC truck or SUV. Must be in good shape, inpected and in working order. Not looking for something beat up with rust and 150K plus miles.

Highest I can go is 2k bucks tops. If you have something or see something please let me know, snow is right around the corner.

    Thanks

    -Barry

I have a buddy who will be selling a Contour SE 5-speed soon. I know it isn't a truck or SUV, but it does well in the snow, and the V6 actually has really nice power. Not many V6 SEs out there. When I get home from Raleigh on Friday I'll see if he is ready to sell and get the specifics.

i have a 98 gmc jimmy 4x4 with 134k miles runs great and has a west virginia inspection sticker, the only bad is the rear bumper is rusted but u can get them anywhere from 50-100 at a yard if u really want it fixed, and also has a small spot on rear passenger door which u cant see unless it is opened up, but other than that everything is solid and good to go, and i was asking $2300 OBO, pm me if your interested at all, thanks

Good luck not finding anything 2k or less without some cancer.

I'll keep my eyes open for you though since you're close by. Are you only interested in 4x4's?

I know I am being picky, need something that will last me. I saw his ad awhile ago, not for me.

I really like a truck to have regardless, there have been so many times I could of used one. I figure get Gieco or some cheap insurance and keep it on year round. Mustang is going to need some work this winter.

So number one on my list is a Truck. Ranger,s10 etc.

I know it has some miles, but looks REALLY clean and not too far out of your price range. The matching cap is a big plus in my book.

Back in the day I had a '91 Ranger. Great little truck. Nice interiors in that generation - they really hold up well.
My '91 was RWD - I just built a frame to hold sandbags between the rear wheelwells and the thing was like a tank in the snow.

Thanks!! Im likeing that first one if I can get him down on the price. I wish I could go 3000-3500 but I just cant do it right now and who knows when it will start snowing. I do not want to be on the road in a lowered rear wheel drive V8 this year. Ill give all them a call tomarrow, see if any of them will play ball and haggle.

    Thanks

Well got my truck this morning.Red 5 speed 94 Ford Ranger 4x4, basicly stole it. Talked the guy down from $2,500 to $750. Its exsactly what I was looking for. Perfect winter and all purpose truck for me. Even has a good set of Goodyear Wranglers.

It is high milelage but that really didn't scare me awhole lot. Slight ding on the side as well. The only big problem was when I got there and he had it running it developed a fuel leak above the tank, gonna get that fixed no biggie. And the tail lights don't work but the break lights do, so just some sort of wiring issue.

Went ahead and bought a center consol from Wal Mart and some floor mats (if anyone wants some Harley Davidson ones there yours).

Overall very happy with the buy and even more happy to park the Mustang in the garage for the winter and gets some things done on it I culd before being my DD.

Thanks to all those who helped, and a special thanks to Paxton, your a good guy and I appricate the help!

Ill gets some pictures up tomarrow if anyone would like to see.

Hey Barry - congrats!! Post up some pics when you get a chance. The taillights might need new bulbs? A buddy of mine has rebuilt a few Rangers and has lots of parts lying around, so if you need something let me know and I can put you in touch with him.
