Has anyone looked at this class much? Any thoughts?

Highlights:

  • Sealed FRPP crate 5.0 in any chassis
  • FRPP ECM, subject ot tune verrification and processor swap
  • Any chassis at 3200#'s
  • Basically limited to 28-10.50 tires
  • C10 fuel
  • Tranny options are interesting, real clutch type pro-shifted sticks or trans brake C4's
  • Class requires a ful lexhaust through mufflers.
  • Chassis rules are basically "stock style" suspension.

By far not a low buck class with the buy in for the crate engine.

$6,000 ish for the crate 5.0, not sure of there is a premium for the sealed version.
$1,500 ish for the required install kit.

Add in a prepped transmission (likely expensive ot develop a clutch tranny package), a proper chassis etc and it gets up there.

I wonder what the top qualifiers are going to be running? I would like to see the class take off and stay around. Seem like once you eat the buy in, it could be a cost effective class to run. If it sticks to the intent, these could all be drivers races ...
