start drilling out those spot welds and get rid of those seat brackets. Scrap all the seam sealer. Open up harness and start cutting wires out. The black plastic up under the pedals, have fun with that. it made me bleed several times

How much can the seam sealer weigh - maybe 3-5 pounds for the entire car if that? I realize that every little bit helps and eventually add up to substantial weight savings, but removing the sealer can result in water sneaking its way into the car and you definitely don't want that. I know you won't be driving it in the rain, but at the very least you'll be washing the car. Just a thought.

Can't wait to see more progress, especially the cage!!

yeah scott heat gun and a scraper. Cut the black stuff out from under the pedals with a sharp utility knife.

As for water leaks there was none, after you scrape the seam sealer there is still alot down in the seam, all you are taking is the mounds of it they left. In some spots we found sealer that was over 1/2 thick. Hell we even found some that wasnt on seams.

And yes I agree it doesnt weigh alot, but if you add it up with alot of other little items like wiring, sound deadner and other little items it does begin to add up

Very cool lot of weight in the bumper foam pieces and their suppoerts replaced by chrome moly of course. Percy's speed glass rear glass aluminum pedals instead of the rubber cover. Don't forget the evaporator for the ac still in the dash. Air bags it's module and sensors
Fog lights is your hood an aftermarket if not a light weight aftermarket hood. Lots of fun stuff that can be done!
