Well, sure, one of many. Suddenly though you have become a master tuner and know everything. Then you go and call my buddy a "hillbilly ass" which is the farthest from.what he is. I believe he has achieved more by accident than you have tried to do. Also, your right again my friend, cars probably did hit tens in the 80's with less power....but also as a purpose built race car. So, what's it matter now? You should open your own shop and start tuning cars since you know so much about it now.

WHERE are you getting this? I recommended a tune, and I told Went12's what you are able to change in a tune. I NEVER said I could tune, was good at it, or that I would do it.

I did build something myself. I built the engine for my fox when I was 18 entirely by myself. every nut/bolt/screw/bearing/etc. was all me. Impressive engine? hell no. Proud of it? you bet.
Anyone can put together a fast car. It takes way more money than it does skill. A fast car is more representative of ones income than it is anything else. So give me some time, one day maybe I will have a faster car and therefore some respect (which is a shame that thats what it takes to get respect on here). Until then I have waaayy more important things in my life that need attention other than my car and if you knew me you would know that.
Its just funny because if I had a car that ran 10s I doubt this whole explosion against me would of even taken place. I think you need to stop and think for a minute about the time when you didn't have a fast stang and when you didn't know everything, cause you sure as hell weren't born with it, no one is

Why not just super charge or turbo charge it? Large investment all at once but, it'll make the most power right away. Then you can build it up afterwards.
I went 12.50s@109 (1.78 60') with P heads, an Explorer intake (untouched), and N41 cam that Torqueboxer had laying around. Full RR suspension, 3240 with me in it, and it did it on Toyo RA1s. And no tune besides an allen key for the FP regulator and of course timing adjustments (oh the horror!). ~300 rwhp or so (made 258 when it trapped in the mid 105s-106 before the cam and mass air swap).
Torqueboxer and I also hacked the shit out of the pistons in a 95 shortblock that was laying outside for an unknown amount of time (after I put 14 psi to it for a year in the hillclimb car), tossed some TWs on, an N91, Victor Jr., and a 750DP (we "tuned" it ourselves, no master tuner required!), made 347@6600 NA with compression in the high 8s.
Just trying to point out that it doesn't necessarily take a ton of money or "expert tuner" status to make these cars run, especially an NA car. My blower car was never dynoed, but I did the same "ghetto tune" I imagine went12s and countless others have, a simple wideband, locked out timing, unplugged O2s, good mass air sensor, and simple fuel pressure adjustments, and some sense. Of course the newer cars are a different animal, but the EECIV cars don't exactly take a genius to run hard.
And the car Went12s is speaking of (the 10.0 car that makes 576 at the tires) has great driveability, and is an animal. He isn't the person to have an argument with on the subject I assure you.

Well maybe you were thinking of a fast car differently than I was. Im saying 10 sec fast. Therefore what i said is true as far as my definition of fast goes. You dont just buy a stock fox and its fast. You need thousands worth of tires, suspension, and h/c/i to run 10s. Not cheap by any means

People have been running 10s for a few grand for along time. Stock short, H/C/I and a blower with tires have been a winning formula for years. Just because the track is littered with cars that are shop built running 12s at 190 mph on street tires doesn't mean you can't go fast for cheap. It just takes sense and knowing what parts (that you can buy used and cheap) work.
