    Daughters new/first car

It a 2007 with 73,000 miles. I bought it from a customer at work for $1000.00. It needs a crankshaft. My daughter is excited to say the least. PT Cruiser is not my first choice, but for a grand I couldn't go wrong.

The timing belt has 3000 miles on it, but it's soaked in oil so it's getting a new one.

With 73,000 miles it's probably ready for its 3rd set.

What did the customer do to it at 73k miles to destroy a crank??? Doesn't sound like a easy fix.

It's a problem with 2.4's. The crank gets too much end play and pushes the front seal out. The guy I bought the crank from has seen them with 40,000 miles leaking. Poor design.

My buddy has the off white 05' PT Cruiser GT high output stage 1 turbo n its freakin badasss, and pretty hook't up too. He'll venture to the Pitt Mills shows sometimes. I heard in order to change the water pump you gotta drop the whole front end thou. Basicly similar to how you'd install longtube headers on the 2v.
