My in-laws have a 27" Magnavox TV they don't need anymore. Once in a while the picture will go black - then you just have to shut it off and turn it back on and it is fine. They told me this happens once in a rare while. They are looking for a remote control for it - has to be lying around somewhere. $20 picked up in Moon Township.

If they get sick of holding on to it, we put ours on the sidewalk with a big "take me" sign on it. Gone in 10 minutes.
