    Need F-150 gas tank

My 2001 F-150 Super Crew tank started leaking last night.....of course after I put $50 of gas in it!! I'm looking at several places that have them.

    Rock Auto is about $135.
    Advance is over $200.

Then there are some place like gastanks.com or something that are way under $100.....not even considering those places.

Suggestions?? You used to just go locally get and the parts but with all the web options available it gets confusing.

Advance runs a lot of online specials - order online and pick up at your local store. Often they have promos where if you buy over $100 of stuff, you get 15% off of that order and a $50 coupon good on your next purchase of over $100 ( that coupon usually only is good for a month or so ). So if you have some repairs on the horizon, it might be a good deal, especially if you don't have to pay to ship.

I've never used RockAuto - but have heard some good things about them.

These coupons are great. I've used this deal three times now!!

Using "visa" in the coupon code always works also.

Found one local at A&G for $160. Rock Auto was cheaper but shipping was $38 so it's a wash and A&G can have it today.

Shelby.....going to check out the Advance online deal. Thanks.

maybe you prefer to buy new, but have you called some of the local junk yards?? Surely there is something there... and junk yards out your direction are sometimes a lot more easy going... i remember times when i was younger when you'd go ask for a part and the guy would tell you where that type of car was and say like "if you go tear it out, $20" ... they've even told us "if you go get it, you can have it"

Got a very nice tank for the salvage year I mentioned above. Swapped it in tonight....took less than two hours and back on the road.
