    Question Home brewing

    Anyone else her home brew? I started brewing some rather fantastic beers a few months ago...I must stay, Yuengling and other "Pittsburgh" beers don't seem to do it for me anymore.

    My brother-in-law does. After a good home brew most off the shelf stuff sucks.
    I've definitely considered it but don't have the time at the moment. I did find that Magic Hat makes some dang good beer.

    Magic Hat is a good one. I don't think it takes too long. One evening to brew it. An hour to go from primary to secondary frementation. One evening to bottle or in my case keg it. probably 4 hours of actual work in 6 weeks is well worth a good brew.

    @92306GT, let's see some pics!

    I homebrew wine, but beer is a similar process. If you want ultra simple, try this stuff:

    http://www.bottlebrew.com/

    there are other companies offering similar products.

    Drop the yeast tablet in the bottle, put the special cap on, put in a warm dark place for a week. Put in the fridge overnight. Open, pour, and enjoy.

    Hardcore beer afficionados may frown on it, but for my novice taste buds, it actually doesn't suck!

    I looked at a few places around the burgh, found this gem in Portersville.

    I would recommend them. This is where I get my supplies. No shipping when buying local. Beer kits are heavy so shipping is usually high.

    Always wanted to get into this, and there is a supply place right near me... but I just don't have the time and the patience at the moment. Maybe once I buy a house and get settled in...

    If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

    I'm debating on trying wine next but I can't seem to get a break between beer batches. My keg is always empty before the next batch is ready to go in. Funny how that happens.
