Question Help ....what's my car worth?

I have been considering selling my GT500. I love the car and it's a blast to drive but I just don't have the time to enjoy it anymore

I have a ton of money wrapped up in this car but I'm truly unsure what it's worth. It's paid off so I don't need to sell it and I will keep it if I can't get a fair price.

Would I be out of line asking $42k-45k for this car?

    Here's the details

    2007 GT500
    Alloy Metallic with Silver Strips
    8k miles
    Made 719/676 STD (702/660 SAE)
Consistently traps in the 130-135mph in quarter mile. (The 5 times it's been to the track )
Don't ask about time ... car needs driver mod!

    hi mark

your car is awesome, i don't want to be a downer but you will never get $42-45k for it

when i was looking for a 07/08 shelby , you could buy them all day long for under $35k with low miles

with the 13 coming out i would assume there will be all kinds of shelbys for sale as people want to upgrade

you can get an 11 gt 500 in that price range already

and you can get a base 12 gt500 for 46k with x plan

you almost never get your mod $ back on car

your best bet is to probably keep it, especially since you own it

The other option would be to part out the mod list, return it back to stock and get something decent back with everything combined.

yea i agree with PJ 100%

I think the typical rule of thumb would be to first find out what your car is selling for stock right now... get an idea off of SVTP... take the 20% value of modifications, and add that to the stock price... you loose all money paid into labor... and that'll give you an idea of what you should expect to be asking... Unfortunately that combined with teh market factors discussed above and you're not going to like what its worth .....

Unfortunately i've learned this the hard way, but also used it to my advantage...

So, as Wick said - you'll get more than 20% of the price of the mods when selling them used, so you're better off selling them seperately.. its just a PITA

    Good luck

I agree with the above posts... I have been kickin' around the idea of a new toy (modern muscle) and have been keeping an eye on the 07-08 Shelby's and it is amazing what you can pick one of these up for and with the significant changes for 2013, I'm sure they will continue to come down. Actually looked at clean 08 over the holiday with 16xxx miles with mild mods and had the guy down to 27k... just wasn't ready to pull the trigger.

I think your car looks great though and is very nicely modded, just don't think you can/will get the money you want out of it unless you find a sucker! Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

Mark, i gotta go along with what our bud PJ said. Since its paid for and you have all the mods done to it, its fullish to sell it. Just put it in storage or in your garage for a couple of years and maybe you'll have the time later to drive it and enjoy it. You could quit riding those damn Harley's so much and drive the car more once in awhile.

Or i'll trade ya strait up for the GN.

Most likely I will just keep the car, but if someone offered my $39k I would let it go.

I don"t agree that that person would be a sucker, they would just have to be someone who can appreciate what this car is.

True you might be able to buy a used 2007-2008 GT500 with under 10k miles for 35K but you'll never build that car to be comparable to mine for under 39k.

De-mod and sell, or keep. I agree with the majority. I'll trade you a new furnace for it, its better than a hug from Scott
