03 cobra tank would be perfect. I picked up this car last week... http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...-54kmiles.html. Not sure exactly what I'm going to do with it just yet. Happened to have the money in the bank and got the car for a steal. I'd like to swap the drivetrain into my car and vice versa, but that'll be a ton of work so I may try to talk myself into liking silver convertibles, lol. Either way I'll need to sell one of the two cars in the next 2-3 months to finish paying for a wedding

Unfortunately this new car started to overheat right as I got it home. After checking a few things I think the root cause is a warped tank. Seems to be a somewhat common problem especially in colder months. I added coolant and burped the system at the crossover and can drive the car now without it overheating, but it looks like it has a very small amount of vapor escaping from the tank. It's only a matter of time before enough escapes to cause it to overheat again. I should go ahead and buy an aftermarket tank but I'm already stretching us a little thin after buying the car so I'd rather just pick up a stocker for now.

I'll be in touch about heading out that way to pick yours up. Let me know how much you'd want for it. Hopefully we can find a time to meet up in the next couple weeks.

Looks like a lot of car for the money!

If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If it's marketed right, you'll buy it. But if it's real, you'll feel it. IG: @donuttrump

Yeah, that's sort of why I went for it. Even if I don't end up keeping it or using the drivetrain I doubt I'll lose any money on it.

I think he was a memeber on here before? Maybe screen name on svtp of driverreturnsonfoot or something like that?

If that's the same car I thought it also had ported heads and made over 700 to the tire on pump?

Thanks Steve. I'll be in touch if I need it. It mysteriously stopped leaking yesterday. I'm going to take it on a few short trips around the area to see how it acts.

Yeah, the clutch seems to grab really high. I haven't had a chance to adjust it yet. I've already gotten used to it.

The guy I bought it off of just signed up on SVTP to sell it. The guy who had it before him is a moderator on SVTP and his SN is like rick5150 or something like that. I may try to touch base with him to get some more details on the car. The guy I bought it off of didn't really know a lot about the car. I'm curious what fuel pumps it has.

That may have been this car. Both previous owners that I know about are from the Charleston, WV area so PRP would be a real hike for them, but it's not impossible.

Speed your right it's the same car. It did run a 10.8xx once but it had slicks and skinnies on it.

Fuel pumps are stock cobra pumps with a KB BAP 40 amp. The tuner, Ken Bjonnes formerly of Modular Depot, told me there is no head work. The original owner was Steve "the farmer" Gifford and had the car built at Modular Depot. The highest I ever saw on the dyno was 680 rwhp on a 18# pulley. The short block has been replaced and is supposed to be an aluminum block. I have the stock block in my garage. The reason it was replaced was b/c the crank pulley broke off. Nothing wrong with the block other than that. I had a new crank put in and checked over thoroughly.

Got any other questions just ask.....it's been awhile but I did a lot of wrenching on that car several years ago.

Nice. So it has cams eh? How does it sound? And E85 ftw. If it was readily available around here I would get my car tuned for it. I can easily see you making over 700 with the corn.

It sounds absolutely bad ass, lol. It's definitely the best sounding cobra I've heard in person. Those 1 3/4" Kooks and full 3" exhaust just pound your chest. If I get it retuned I'm definitely going to try to get it to idle lower so it lopes a little more. Right now it's around 900 RPM I'd say, I'd like it to be around 600-700 if possible.

Here's a vid and a couple more pics I found from the previous owner...

I can verify this - i followed it for 2 hours..... the car sounds GREAT! Not like any other cobra i've ever heard - much deeper, and really doesn't have much of that patented "mustang" sound imho... its better!

I couldn't find a scratch anywhere on it... the paint is insanely clean... i can only hope my next car is as clean as this one!

Dave is the tuner at Modular Depot since Ken left....or was anyway not sure if he is still there. MD stores all there tunes so you might call and ask them about them. They should be able to shed some light on the subject.

It's a great car and pulls like a freight train w the 18# onyhe last time I drove it!
