2.3 turbo swap

Picked this car up here on the site, pretty solid car....going to be a 2.3 turbo. its going to use the auto in it for awhile until it destroys it then I have a WC t5 i need to round up the swap parts for to put it in.

figured i post of a few pictures of the progress. I took the old driveline out this weekend. I have a large vam, 88 TC computer, going with a cheap front mount intercooler and 3" exhaust on an 88 TC engine. hoping to get the new driveline in it next weekend. going to be adding more pictures soon.

Looks like a nice project. I enjoyed my Turbocoupe when I had it. It was a nice riding, good handling car. Ford should have continued the SVO / Turbo option on the 87 - up Mustangs

i would love to have an SVO or TC. Im doing this car for resale. i was hoping to get to drive it some this spring but i think i already have a buyer. maybe start looking for the real thing this summer

new engine, 88 Turbocoupe.......been sitting on a shelf in a garage since the early 90s I believe somewhere around 30k miles on it. Everything spins and moves freely



swapped my accessory brackets, should be ready to drop back in the hole by the weekend once I get some time to play with it again.

Still waiting on the 3" exhaust and and intercooler parts, Should have the computer harness re pinned and Vam wired tomorrow night

At the level that IHI will support, you arent going to run out of fuel as long as it has a good pump ... You will be out of turbo before it's out of injector.

Widebands are good, but I wouldnt worry about it on a flip car.

Where did you get intercooler and exhaust from?

the exhaust is from stinger performance. the intercooler is just a universal piping kit
