    Anyone live in Aliquippa?

    Hey all,

I'm still in the market for houses and I found an affordable one with a nice detached garage and a decent floor plan...

How nice of an area is Aliquippa? I was looking at city data and there was 5 murders in 2009 and 5 in 2010? The burglary and robbery rates aren't too nice either. That isn't a real turn on...

    Regards,
    Anthony

lol, I was trying to be nice and not offend anyone if they live there already but ya you are right I'd rather live in a box in a field, at least I wouldn't get robbed and shot.

Well the adress is listed on Howard Hanna as Hopewell, and the satellite view shows it in a "nice" neighborhood, not down by the river. Rhode Island road is the street name. But when I type in the adress with hopewell in it, google maps comes back and says it is Aliquippa. Maybe google is just associating it with Aliquippa? It's right off of Broadhead.

And a few guns and dog is a given.

I sent this my reply too quick. My brother and I are selling my father's house in Beaver Falls. No guns are needed there. It's above Beaver Falls and is called Pleasantview.!1/2 story with a large two stall detatched garage. My cars are stored there now.

I would just stay away from the flats along 51. Anything up off of Broadhead Rd. should be pretty quiet.

There are lots of neighborhoods with an Aliquippa mailing address that are VERY nice.

Stay away from down by the river. Like Dan said, anything up near Brodhead road ( runs through the area, parallel to the Beaver Valley Expressway ) should be nice. My sister lives about 2 minutes off of Brodhead - off of Chapel Road - and let me tell you - the houses are gorgeous. Their kids go to Central Valley - nice school. If you find a house with an Aliquippa mailing address that is in the CV school district you should be fine.

I'm not sure where the house you're looking at is located, but do yourself a favor and drive around the area and you'll find it is pretty nice.

1966 Coupe - 331 stroker - Bullet custom roller cam - cam and motor installed and dyno tuned by Rodeheavers Hot Rod - Astro A5 - McLeod RXT - 486 to the wheels - more fun than my little tires can handle

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado - currently NOT on jackstands

I lived in Rochester for 8 months in 2011, and I'd definitely go for a drive around the area to see for yourself if it's what you want.
That entire area is HUGE for house flipping. I can't emphasize that enough. Every person I knew in the area was into house flipping and were also landlords.
Lots of $20,000 houses with $5,000 put into them and people wanting $70,000 for them. Be very careful shopping for a house in that whole area.

That being said, there are some decent deals in the Beaver county area that aren't complete junk. We did a lot of house shopping before deciding to come back to our house in WV.

Aliquippa, Hell No! I think that Hopewell has an Aliquippa zipcode, that could be why your getting it on google. I carry a loaded gun when i deliver to Aliquppa, (LOL) it is part of my area for my business. As several have stated, if you stay closer to Broadhead RD. you should be ok.
    Hopewell: Yes
    Center: Yes
    Monaca, is ok too

Can you tell me how it is in the area I linked? It should take you directly to the location of the house on google maps.

For real... after all, it is Aliquippa... Try living in an inner city ghetto, night and day.
