    My uncles nephew had a '91 yellow GT. 10 sec car. Dave Augisitne was the name. Vortech made a custom blower for that thging and used it for a experiemental type of thing. Supposedly it was pushing 30 lbs of boost with a harley cog belt. He was the one racing the GT when it flipped. Long story short, the car has been sitting since '98. I could have bought it for 3500 from my uncle. There was just way too much missing from it to even think about getting it. He would have even givin me the magizines it was on the cover of. I think there were 4 or 5 it was on.

    Sometimes. When he got it back from Peter Farrel, it would only last a few days/ weeks before he blew the seals out of it. Another over boosted car. I am pretty sure they bought it from him then he got the Viper. That was actually the second RX-7 he had. The first one was scattered up the parkway past Penn Hills. High speed run gone bad.

    Any idea what kind of HP that RX put out? it had to be in the 350 to 400 range to beat a hemi that I know had to have 425. that RX probably weiged 2800 lbs and the cuda weighed around 3300 lbs

    Man, thats digging up some 12 year old info. HAHAHA I honestly cant remember and HP numbers. I did run him in my Acura one time going down the parkway. We werent that far apart from each other. He was in the front of course. HAHAHAHA

    Yes I remember Augie. We used to race at PRP when I had Nitrous on my '90 LX.

    Also saw a little turbo chebby sprint beat a late 60's early 70's Nova and everybody was in shock.

    It was my friends car it had a 1.3 liter intercooled turbo in it.

    He also had a VW GTI VR6 that beat a Lincoln Mark VIII and the guy with the lincoln said that was some fast f#cking farfignugen

    The silver RX7 burned in sutersville, the viper died on the parkway along with a sportbike rider when they hit a garbage truck on the parkway.

    That dude "auggie" used to hang with a bunch of local guys who had really bad for the time cars, Augistine was always with gene maricini who had a pretty bad( for the time) gt. Gene told me he had a x cam and I could have it for my car i laughed and told him it was too puny. He didnt know what to say...LOL

    Lot's of misinformation here.
    #1. Dave Augustine ran a B trim and then a first run R trim Vortech that he got from Nitrous Pete, no custom blowers. He bought the blowers and a lot other stuff from Nitrous Pete.
    #2. The Vortech blowers he ran were making 15-16 pounds of boost.
    #3 Dave Augustine was not racing the GT when it flipped. The GT was racing a old Yellow Camera with a roots blower on it. The car did not lose control from the bump. The rear end was leaking fluid and got on the tires.

    Dave Augustine's adopted dad owns the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show. He bought Dave and his brother Mark 2 brand new 89 GT's. One purple, one Black. That's when I first met them(Keystone 89).

    Dave's 89 GT which had an SN95 Paxton and Motorsport cam, burned down in a fire and his dad bought him a brand new 91 GT. Within 2 weeks of getting the 91 he had a stroker 5.0, Vortech, nitrous, GT 40 intake, fuel system, lowered suspension, custom wheels, fiberglass hood and wing, and all other kind of goodies. Dave's dad bought Dave all kind of things for their garage and then Dave painted the GT yellow.

    Dave was pretty hard core back in the day. He tried the old DFI System, and even a carb in conjunction with the 5.0. He always kept blowing up the car trying to push nitrous through it. The car went a couple 10's at Saleem in Ohio. Back then that was very huge.

    Dave got mixed up with the wrong crowd after he started modifying other mustangs and got a really bad drug habit. I was told he even showed up to the Pittsburgh home and garden show and stole from his family blind! Last I heard Dave was in jail in California and his brother and father were trying to unload his old car. I saw it and it was in the saddest condition. Dave took many parts off to buy drugs. The Blower was missing, sheet metal intake rusted, 3 fuel injectors missing, no computer, and a broken stroker motor that had a repaired bent crank shaft. His family didn't really understand how bad shape the car was in and they wanted $6000 for it about 5 years ago.

    A real sad end to a real sad story. Dave had the world by the balls if he wanted it. His dad gave him so much but he ended up pissing it all away.

From what you say there its a damn good thing I did not buy that car. I would have ripped my uncle a new ass and Daves "dad" a new one too. The sheet metal intake was an aluminium one that has psycho50 etched into it. I was unaware on the crank being bent. That car would have made a good roller but thats about it. I was there for a phone conversation with Dave from the cali clink he is in not too long ago. According to him the motor was still tip top. I think it still had the cog lower pulley on. Other than that, the trans was gone and replaced with a stock T-5, the custom rear housing was still there with unknown internals. Stock parts held it all together. He still swears that Vortech flew him out to get a custom blower made for it. Who knows. Anyways, my uncle dumped the car to a kid for 4000.

    The motor was done by Jim Evanuik. Had a R302 block, trick flow heads, mechanical roller cam, stroker etc. It was a real nice motor when Jim did it but Dave kept blowing it up. The block had one sleeve or two, the heads were repaired, and the crank was bent and repaired. Any idea how long Dave has left in jail?

    The motor that was in it was an iron block with aluminium motorsport heads and 1-7/8 primary tube headers.

    The uncle, yes and no. He used to live in Greentree and had a couple 4X4 vans. The El Camino, I am not sure. I dont remember that. You must be going way back. As far as time in the clink, well, he was out and here for some time. You can probally figure what happened. He found himself on the fastrack back to cali. This last time was a doozie. He probally wont be out for a very long time.Unfortunatly, I was talking to his brother Mark not long ago and he pretty much never even mentioned Dave. It has John very upset that it turned out like this. That boy could have had anything he wanted if he would have kept straight.
